Evolution
Evolving by level
Section titled “Evolving by level”Open your Pokedex and choose the Evolve page. It lists every companion in your bag that is ready to evolve. Pick one, check the before and after preview, and confirm.
- Your companion does not need to be summoned.
- You need room in your inventory for the evolved form.
Some species can evolve in more than one direction. The menu lets you choose which.
Evolving with items
Section titled “Evolving with items”Some evolutions need an item instead of a level. Summon your companion first, then use the item and confirm.
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mega Stone | Mega Evolves a species that has a Mega form |
| Evolution Rock | Evolves species that need it instead of a level |
| Friendship item | Evolves species that evolve by friendship |
| Elemental Stone | Evolves species with element-based evolutions |
The item is only used up once the evolution succeeds. Unsummon and summon it again to continue.
What carries over
Section titled “What carries over”Evolving never resets your work. The evolved companion keeps its:
- three IVs, attack speed, grade, variant and shiny status
- level, experience and nickname
- three TM moves
Your card collection bonus is per species, so after evolving, the bonus from the evolved species’ cards applies instead. The preview shows you the difference before you confirm.
