Wandering trainers
Trainers wander the world looking for a battle. Talk to one to see who they are. Before you accept, you can view their team and view the rewards.
Trainer ranks
Section titled “Trainer ranks”Each trainer rolls a rank and a new team when they move on. Stronger trainers bring bigger teams, hit harder and pay out more.
| Rank | How often | Team size | Levels | Time limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rookie | 40% | 1 | 10-25 | 2 min |
| Regular | 30% | 1-2 | 20-40 | 3 min |
| Ace | 18% | 2-3 | 35-55 | 4 min |
| Veteran | 9% | 3-4 | 50-70 | 5 min |
| Champion | 3% | 4-6 | 65-85 | 7 min |
Rookies and Regulars use first-stage species. Veterans and Champions use evolved and single-stage species. Aces and Champions also use their moves and special attacks, so they are noticeably tougher than their level suggests.
Battle rules
Section titled “Battle rules”- You need a companion out before you accept.
- They send out their team one at a time.
- Stay close. Running off forfeits the battle.
- If your companion goes down, you have 20 seconds to send out another one before you lose.
Rewards
Section titled “Rewards”Each opponent you knock out gives your companion bonus experience and rolls the trainer’s reward table. Higher ranks give more experience per knockout and have better odds on every reward. Knocking out a shiny rolls an extra shiny reward.
